Innovative spending in Global Health

Julius Mugwagwa

Dr Julius Mugwagwa, Research Fellow at The Open University on how to get more from each dollar spent on health in development.

His research focuses on two countries in Africa (South Africa and Zimbabwe) and on two global health funders, the Gates Foundation and the Global Fund to Fight HIV/AIDS, TB and Malaria.

The aim of the research is to identify how decisions on health spending can be more imaginative and impactful in the current era of financial stress. In layman's terms, it is about how to make every dollar deliver more, and how to get 'more for less'.
