Daphne is a social anthropologist. She studied her MA (in Social Anthropology) at the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London. She received her PhD from Goldsmiths College, University of London in 2002, for an ethnographic study of Maasai/Kikuyu intermarriage.
Between 1998 to 2000, Daphne worked for a number of development agencies in Cameroon.
Daphne’s most recent research has focused on Chinese women migrants in Africa.
Daphne has been an Associate Lecturer tutoring on a number of modules in Development Management since 2000.
She is currently a member of the production module team for TD223 ‘International development: making sense of a changing world’.
