Consultancy Opportunities - International Development Office

The International Development Office at the OU ( has occasional short-term project opportunities for work such as writing, editing, critical reading, and to run or support central OU academics in running workshops, for example in curriculum development or best practice authoring for open and distance learning. We are therefore seeking to widen our database of interested, available and appropriately qualified consultants. 

We would like to hear from ALs with the following:

  • Substantial experience of OU module authoring (essential)
  • Experience of engaging with the OU at module team level (essential)
  • Good understanding of the pedagogy underpinning the OU model (essential)
  • Strong skills in digital literacy (essential)
  • A track record of successful consultancy, with and/or outside of the OU (essential)
  • Regular availability to take on consultancy work, sometimes at short notice (essential)
  • Experience of working in developing countries (preferable)

We are particularly interested in applications from ALs with experience, skills and qualifications in the areas of:
